The Everyday Walk & Recovery ๐ŸŒธ

Walking brings wellness back to the basics, most people think you need a fancy class or strict schedule to achieve your wellness goals however that is defiantly not the case. Aiming to go a short or long walk everyday forms a habit, becoming simply part of your daily routine.

Walking is a simply way to be active, whilst supporting your bones muscles and heart. It is also a great addition to aid recovery from gym sessions and pilates. However the best thing about walking is how it makes you feel.

Whether it be a quick 10 minute walk or an hour long stroll walking is key! The fresh air, the outdoors, the scenery and listening to your favourite music or podcast.

Favourite Places to Walk ๐ŸŒท

Personally I love a forest walk, the trees, the leaves and the breeze especially on those crisp winter mornings just as the sunrise it coming up... you also feel like you have already achieved so much before the day has even begun.

Mountain walking is a fun activity to do with friends for a bit of a laugh especially a sunrise morning mountain walk, having to travel to the walk in the dark then feeling you have accomplished the world when you has made it to the top and look out over the amazing view! This turn a simple free activity such as walking into an enjoyable girls day out!

In addition to walking, recovery treatments are amazing for mental, physical and spiritual wellness. Treatments can be relaxing or can be a no pain no gain scenario such as the the hot shower, ice bath method to help flush the muscles of lactic acid aiding recovery.

However, my favourite method of recovery is regular lymphatic drainage massages. Lymphatic drainage massages are fantastic in supporting the body's lymphatic system. I go on a week/ two week cycle. Lymphatic drainage massages are definitely not for the weak as they are quite painful, however they are extremely effective clearing and clearing the body, whilst reducing swelling and fluid retention. How can you really say no to that?

My lympahtic drainage massage therapist also supports my spiritual wellness, which isn't for everyone and can easily be forgotten. However, I LOVE to get my angels cards read!

I rate walking, I have a labradoodle called Monty he is my biggest motivation to walk on a daily basis. Aloughth after a busy day, especially on the dark evenings we have began to expiernece now in Autumn  it can be difficult to find the motivation to walk but the feeling after taking some time to yourself and getting outdoors is great.  I find walking  is a great way to reconnect with yourself clear your mind and support your overall wellness.

Lymphatic drainage gets a 10/10 from me in support holistic wellness, it is fantastic for recovery and prioritising self care which everyone needs! Even if you don't find the treatment beneficial... although you defenttly will it is a great hour to take to yourself and focus on your needs. Lymphatic drainage has helped me in so many ways, my favourite appointment time is a Monday morning it leaves your feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead whilst removing the stresses from the week before.

Finally a line on spiritual wellness, I love and belief in angel cards however I know this topic can be contriversll, I am also quite supperstioous when it comes to magpies and ladders. But even if you don't believe in tarot sometimes a positive affirmation of massage can completely change your mood, your week and just give yo a boost of confidence ensuring you that you are on the write path.
